How to Verify a DJI Authorized Dealer (and Avoid Grey-Market Drones)
Prices that look too good usually are. Here is how to confirm a DJI dealer is authorized in under two minutes, what you lose if it is not, and how to check us.
Why authorization matters
DJI sells through a controlled channel. Authorized dealers receive genuine, region-correct stock directly from DJI or its national distributor, can activate DJI Care Refresh and DJI Care Enterprise on your behalf, and are accountable to DJI for after-sales support. Unauthorized sellers — marketplace storefronts, "international version" importers, liquidators — may offer real products, but you inherit the risk:
- Warranty: service may be refused or billed without an authorized-channel receipt.
- DJI Care: Refresh and Enterprise plans have strict enrollment windows and require proof of purchase.
- Radio compliance: CE-region units transmit at lower power, and since the FCC's December 2025 Covered List action, units without FCC authorization cannot be legally imported into the US at all.
- Counterfeits: batteries and accessories are the most commonly faked DJI items and are a fire hazard.
Three checks that take two minutes
- Search DJI's dealer locator. DJI publishes consumer and enterprise dealer directories by country. For enterprise products, use the Enterprise Dealers page; the listed business name and address must match the seller's website and invoices exactly.

- Ask for the invoice format. Authorized dealers issue invoices in the legal entity's name with serial numbers — the document DJI will ask for at warranty time.
Red flags
- Current-generation aircraft (e.g. DJI Mavic 4 Pro, DJI Mini 5 Pro) advertised 50%+ below MSRP.
- "Ships from overseas warehouse", "EU version", or "no US warranty" in the fine print.
- Payment only by wire to an individual or by cryptocurrency.
- No physical address, or an address that is a mailbox service.
- Offers to ship Canada-only models such as the DJI Lito X1 or Osmo Pocket 4 to US addresses — that is not lawful as of 2026.
What realistic dealer pricing looks like
DJI adjusts wholesale terms as products age, so authorized-dealer discounts scale with product generation. Does DJI honor the warranty if I buy from an unauthorized seller?
DJI's warranty follows the product's region of sale and requires proof of purchase from an authorized channel. Units bought from grey-market importers or marketplace resellers may be refused service or charged for repairs, and cannot be enrolled in DJI Care Refresh after the enrollment window.

Are 'international version' DJI drones a problem?
Often yes. Units intended for other regions may have different radio settings (CE instead of FCC), different chargers, no North American warranty and, since December 2025, may lack FCC equipment authorization entirely, making import unlawful.
Is a 30–40% discount from an authorized dealer realistic?
It can be for older-generation products. DJI adjusts dealer pricing as models age; ASI Computer's 33% and 40% discounts apply to 2022–2023 models, while 2025 releases are 18% below MSRP. Discounts far beyond these on current models are a red flag.
