DJI Care Refresh vs DJI Care Enterprise: Coverage, Enrollment Windows and Whether It's Worth It

A drone is the one camera you can lose in a lake. DJI Care is DJI's accidental-damage program, and the details — especially enrollment deadlines — trip up many first-time buyers. Here is what each plan covers and when it is worth the money.

    Warranty vs DJI Care

Every new DJI product from an authorized dealer carries a manufacturer warranty against defects — typically 12 months on the aircraft and gimbal, shorter on batteries and propellers. The warranty does not cover crashes, water damage or loss. DJI Care is a separate paid program that does. Think of the warranty as "it broke on its own" and DJI Care as "I broke it".

DJI Care Refresh (consumer drones and cameras)

    PlanTermReplacementsIncludes
DJI Care Refresh 1-Year12 months2 (fee per replacement)Accidental damage, water damage, collisions; Flyaway Coverage on eligible aircraft; express shipping
DJI Care Refresh 2-Year24 months3 (fee per replacement)As above, plus extended warranty to two years on covered components

Replacement fees scale with the product — modest for a DJI Mini 5 Pro, higher for a DJI Mavic 4 Pro — but are far below the cost of a new aircraft. Coverage applies to the aircraft, gimbal camera and, for combos, often the included controller and goggles; check the product-specific terms.

Enrollment window: this is where buyers get caught. You generally have 48 hours after first activation to buy Refresh without extra steps; after that a verification video is required and the window closes within about a month. The simplest path is to add Refresh to your order — ASI Computer can include it on the quote for any eligible model.

DJI Care Enterprise (Matrice, Mavic 3 Enterprise, AGRAS, Zenmuse)

    PlanCoverageTypical inclusion
DJI Care Enterprise BasicOne year; accidental-damage repairs up to the coverage amount; free shipping for repairWorry-Free Basic Combo
DJI Care Enterprise PlusOne year; higher coverage amount; unlimited repairs within the limit; one-for-one replacement options; battery coverage on some productsWorry-Free Plus Combo

DJI sells enterprise aircraft such as the DJI Matrice 350 RTK and DJI Mavic 3E as Worry-Free Basic and Worry-Free Plus combos — the difference in our listed prices is largely the Care plan and included accessories. Payloads (Zenmuse H30T, L2, P1) have their own Care Enterprise plans and are quoted separately. Renewals for a second year are available before the first term expires.

    Is it worth it?

    • First drone, or flying near water/trees/indoors: yes. A single Refresh replacement usually costs less than the plan.
    • Experienced pilot flying a Mini in open fields: optional; the aircraft is inexpensive relative to the plan.
    • Any commercial operation: yes. Downtime costs more than the plan, and Enterprise Plus's replacement options keep crews flying.
    • Fleets: yes — and standardise on Plus so every aircraft has the same coverage; it simplifies incident handling.
    • Action cameras on helmets or bikes: yes; Refresh for Osmo is inexpensive.

    Practical tips

    1. Bind the aircraft to your DJI account on day one so Flyaway Coverage and Find My Drone work.
    2. Keep your authorized-dealer invoice with serial numbers; DJI asks for it at claim time.
    3. Note the term end date; renewals must be purchased before expiry.
    4. For enterprise fleets, record which Care plan each serial carries in your asset register.

Ask us to include DJI Care on your quote — it is the easiest way to avoid missing the enrollment window. Learn more about buying from an authorized channel in How to Verify a DJI Authorized Dealer.

    Frequently Asked Questions

When must I buy DJI Care Refresh?

Typically within 48 hours of first activating the aircraft, or later (usually within 30 days) after uploading a verification video showing the drone is undamaged. Deadlines vary by product; buying it with the drone from an authorized dealer avoids the issue entirely.

Does DJI Care Refresh cover a lost drone?

Only with Flyaway Coverage, included in current DJI Care Refresh plans for eligible aircraft. You pay a flyaway service fee and must have the aircraft bound to your account with Find My Drone data; the standard replacement service requires returning the damaged unit.

What does 'Worry-Free' mean on enterprise bundles?

DJI packages Matrice, Mavic 3 Enterprise and AGRAS aircraft as Worry-Free Basic or Worry-Free Plus Combos. The combo includes the aircraft plus the corresponding DJI Care Enterprise plan (Basic or Plus) for one year — you do not buy it separately.

Is DJI Care Refresh available for Osmo cameras and gimbals?

Yes. DJI Care Refresh covers Osmo Pocket, Osmo Action, Osmo 360 and RS gimbals with a low replacement fee, and is popular for cameras that live on helmets and handlebars.
